Hi! I’m Max DuBoff, a philosopher specializing in ethics, especially in ancient Epicureanism.
I’m a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Bowdoin College. Before coming to Maine, I completed my PhD in Classics and Philosophy at Yale University. In addition to Greco-Roman philosophy and practical ethics, I’m interested in applied ethics and philosophy of religion. I’m Director of Education for Bruchim, and I co-host the Bruchim Podcast, which discusses the religious and ethical dimensions of circumcision from a Jewish perspective. After philosophy, what brings me the most joy is categorizing obscure music genres, making dips, and playing board games. Pronouns they/he.
